“Have you heard the polar bear joke? Ok. There’s a baby polar bear, and he’s in the sea and he climbs out and he runs up to his mum, and he says, Mum, are you sure I’m a polar bear?. She says, Don’t be silly, of course you are. You’ve got white fur, you eat fish, you’re a polar bear. Don’t be daft, get back in the sea. So he does but he’s not content. So he jumps out and this time he runs up to his dad, and he says, Dad, am I really a polar bear?. He says, What are you talking about? Of course you’re a polar bear. You’ve got white fur, you eat fish, you’re a polar bear. He says, Why do you ask? And the baby bear says, Because I’m freezing. Why am I always thinking of you?”—

MISFITS SERIES 3!!! Excited ain’t even the word… ♥
A lot of people don’t ‘get’ how I can like a little bit of everything when it comes to music. I hate the idea of genres and ‘scenes’ especially. I just love music for what it is. Melodies and lyrics that make me laugh/cry/swoon/sigh/dance/sing/other. And yet, in so many ways, my apparently mismatched cd collection just keeps on intersecting here and there. A producer/writer whose own band I love will write/produce music for another band I love, despite the fact that they’re from a different genre. Said producer/writer’s band will also support another favourite artist that I go to see in concert. Various artists will work with the same writers/producers, again, despite being from varying ‘scenes’. And now I discover that my favourite band (Westlife) are covering a song by another of my favourite bands (Athlete) on their new album ‘Gravity’. This one has stunned even me. I can’t even fathom where they’d come across an Athlete album track, let alone that they’d decide to cover it, but it proves something, to me at least. No matter how many people believe that you can’t like ‘crap’ music (usually pop music in their eyes) as well as the kind of music that critics applaud, it’s basically just a load of bollocks. If music moves you, listen to it. If it doesn’t, don’t. Simple. As. That. And don’t go around slagging off other people’s tastes in music just because they don’t fall in line with your opinion of ‘coolness’.
I appear to be rambling (as usual) so in short… I am rather chuffed that two of my favourite bands are once again intersecting and proving that my cd collection actually fits together rather nicely, thank you very much. :)

Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to mention this, but I heard snippets of The Script’s new album a couple of days ago now and OH. MY. GOD. I’m in love already, even though the clips are only like 40 seconds long… NEED IT NOWWWWW! ♥
I’ve already earmarked my faves: ‘If You Ever Come Back’ and ‘Deadman Walking’… followed closely by ‘Nothing’, ’You Won’t Feel A Thing’, ‘Walk Away’, ‘Exit Wounds’, ‘This = Love’… Urmmm, I think you get the picture… :p Haha!
In short, is it September 13th yet? :/ Actually, is it September 16th yet? Can’t f&*%ing wait to hear these songs live… ♥
A few days ago, we returned to our rehearsal space north of Denver to begin an arduous assembly of our third record. We’ve been able to steal a few days here and there over the past months, so we aren’t starting from zero. But our goal is singular now; the touring, for now, is over, and our office smells of old wood and take-out. From Indian summer to crisp fall leaves to silver plains, we’re settling in for the long haul.
